What is a Bid Day package?

Samford Bid Day packages are curated gift packages filled with sorority merchandise and new member essentials. Your daughter’s package is matched to her sorority and delivered to campus on Bid Day. As soon as she runs home, she will already have a gift waiting for her. Think of it like a Christmas present for Bid Day!

We offer 4 different levels of Samford Bid Day packages. All packages feature Smith’s Variety exclusive items you won’t find anywhere else – another reason our Samford Bid Day packages are the best!

Each package includes sorority merchandise, a personalized card, gift wrap, and delivery to Samford’s campus, making this one of the easiest ways to celebrate your daughter on Bid Day!

Package A: A Sweet Surprise

Package A is a great option for families who want a fun, meaningful, yet budget-friendly way to celebrate their daughter. This package includes acrylic shelf letters, phone wallet, pin button, notepad, and a *sticker pack. With just enough sorority merch to get her started (we promise she’ll add to her collection over the years), Package A is a sweet surprise waiting for her at the end of Bid Day. 

Package B: Where Fun Meets Practical

If you want a little something more while still keeping the essentials, meet Package B, the perfect blend of practical and fun. Package B includes practical items for everyday use, like a cosmetic bag, *stadium cup, and lavalier pendant necklace, and fun items for college life, like a pennant keychain, *framed sorority tote bag print, and a *sticker pack. Featuring a variety of items, Package B is a great middle option for Samford Bid Day. 

Package C: A Big Celebration

For families looking for a good balance of practical, fun, and keepsake items, then Package C is the way to go! Package C includes a *stadium cup, notepad, phone wallet, dry erase memo board, pin box, beaded lavalier bracelet, *framed sorority house print, and a *sticker pack. Package D: The Full Samford Bid Day Experience

Recruitment Happies 

In addition to Samford Bid Day packages, Smith’s Variety also offers recruitment happies. With long days, back-to-back parties, classes, and adjusting to college life, recruitment week can be exhausting. Recruitment happies are a great way to give your daughter a touch of encouragement during the week. Each themed happy coordinates to a specific recruitment round and is delivered to campus on that day. They’re a small but personal way to show her you’re cheering her on!

How does my student get her Samford Bid Day package?

All Samford Bid Day packages are hand-delivered to campus on Bid Day. After bids are opened, students are notified by text, and pickup details are provided. 

The great part about ordering a Samford Bid Day package with Smith’s Variety is that families do not need to tell us what sorority their daughter joins! Through a special partnership with Samford Greek Life, we receive all of the bid information and package accordingly while keeping all info confidential (because we know how important that is!). 

When should I pre-order?

Now! You can order a Bid Day package and recruitment happies on our website. The pre-order deadline is August 10. We recommend ordering early so you can cross it off your to-do list!
